GOOGLE HAD A GREAT SUCCESS WITH AI

In a recent tech event in San Francisco, this technology firm has formally launched private cloud computing service allowing any new programmer or business to use machine learning technology to optimize the services Google is providing.

The artificial intelligence systems can identify images in the apps like Google Photos, voice and audio on Android phones or significantly upgrade Google's search technology. People can also use this service to other things.

Google also introduced the application programming interface (API) to recognize its image, voice and new interpretation, one of the cloud computing services expected to create a turning point in the future.

This is an innovation in the process of shifting technology towards deep learning, artificial intelligence technology that allows computers to learn how to perform tasks by analyzing big data. Companies like Facebook, Microsoft and Twitter have made great strides in this area, and many of these companies have publicly shared their technology with the world.

Half a year ago, Google also provided open source for TensorFlow. In this segment, Microsoft offered cloud services based on the same technology. And now Google is also moving into this market, according to executive chairman Eric Schmidt, "this is the next revolution in the technology industry."

A part of the "private cloud"

This event is also a huge part of Google's plan to take-over the cloud market. According to data from tech research firm Forrester, the cloud computing market will reach 191 billion US dollars worth in 2020. As of the moment, Amazon is still ahead of its competitors like Microsoft, IBM or Google.

Amazon's annual revenue from this market reached $ 9.6 billion, while according to estimates by Morgan Stanley, Google only reached nearly $ 500 million. However, Google also showed that it was focusing on this market, starting with inviting VMware's former CEO Diane Greene to lead cloud computing.

Urs Hölzle, one of Google's top engineers in an interview with Wired, said "In the future, the cloud market will be bigger than online advertising."

Prior to joining Google in 1999, Hölzle served as professor of the University of California Santa Barbara. In later years, he managed the system which then became the largest private computer network, data center and server network of the world, the platform of online services Google is offering. In recent years, Google has invited a lot of big companies to build and operate its software, service on giant computer network of the company.

However, Hölzle predicted by 2020, revenue from Google's cloud computing services would most likely exceed all online advertising revenue, even if Google is currently the largest advertising service provider.

Google's technological potential is undeniable. Its machine learning technology is also leading the market. By bringing this technology to the list of cloud services, Google showed that it was spending a lot of energy for the expansion of this market. CEO Sundar Pichai, Chairman Eric Schmidt or engineers like Jeff Dean were present at the last event. And whether these people have succeeded in the cloud market or not is still a question of time.
