AMAZON BECOMES THE GIANT IN THE CLOUD COMPUTING MARKET WITH BUSINESS WORTH $ 7.3 BILLION
Amazon has become a cloud giant
Recently,
the provider of cloud computing
services Amazon Web Services (AWS)
has held a meeting in Las Vegas and announced results and business statistics
extremely impressive in recent times.
It
showed that Amazon was becoming a
cloud giant when only with the business segment AWS has achieved value up to $
7.3 billion. In addition, the number of customers now has hit 1 million. And
only the service of the business database had a turnover of $ 1 billion.
The
company said the AWS business grew 81% compared with the same period last year
and it is now a provider of cloud
computing services with the fastest growth today.
This
report included Amazon Elastic
Compute Cloud service (EC2) that
provided services of computing and processing data in the cloud with a growth
of 92%. Amazon Simple Storage
Service (S3) which provided data storage services increased by 120% and the
other database services also increased by 127%.
AWS
has the fastest growth in cloud
computing company today.
Another
giant of cloud computing area as IBM
also achieved business value only up to $ 8.7 billion. It showed that Amazon from a giant of online retailers
was encroaching into the market share of cloud
computing services of IBM. It is important that Amazon is looking to business customers rather than just focus on
the budget users.
That
is what makes AWS become the direct competitor and also a threat not small at
all to IBM or Microsoft's Azure cloud software service. Not long ago, Amazon officially partnered with
Rackspace to aim at the larger business customers.
Amazon has more than 1 million business customers.
Amazon Web Services is the cloud computing platform of Amazon, which
provides resources and computing to help large and small businesses operate
their systems with ease at a low cost.
With
AWS services, enterprises no longer have to care too much about building
hardware infrastructure systems, management, operation and maintenance. Therefore,
they can focus on managing the macro businesses.
This
is a fertile business that previously only IBM dominated, in recent times Microsoft
has also taken part in with its Azure cloud
service. Although the growth potential and profitability of this sector is
still very large, only companies with real capacity can compete and attract
customers as large enterprises.
